I hereby apply for membership in the Omaha Soaring Club, Inc. (OSCI), a non-profit corporation of the State of Nebraska, organized by enthusiasts who seek to foster and promote all phases of soaring flight. OSCI is an approved chapter of the Soaring Society of America, a division of the National Aeronautic Association. I agree to abide by the bylaws of OSCI, and through my interests, efforts, and reasonable financial support, I pledge to promote the goals of OSCI, including to preserve, protect and improve its equipment; to promote flight safety; to promote the public image of soaring; and to provide for the greatest enjoyment of the social and sporting benefits of soaring flight as may be derived from OSCI. I understand that membership in OSCI does not invest me with personal ownership of any club assets, but entitles me to use such equipment.
I understand and acknowledge that participation in soaring and soaring activities, both in the air and on the ground, is or may be hazardous and has inherent risks. I voluntarily assume these risks while participating in this activity.
Important Medical Consideration: I certify that I have no known medical condition that would make it unsafe for me to fly a glider. Should I develop a medical condition during my membership or believe that I may have such a condition, or I feel unfit to fly per the IMSAFE checklist, I will immediately notify a club officer and not fly until medically cleared.
