Hi, all:

This morning started with a Ground School session in the Glider Pilot’s Lounge at KBTA.  The session was open to all club members, but it was held primarily for the two members who have Oral Exams and Check Rides coming up in October (Jeff F and Ryan K) and one member who is completing his bi-annual flight review (Bob A).  In attendance were Steve R, Bob A, Ryan K, Jeff F, Mike M, Don O., and Jonathan F.  There was a lot of good discussion on the topics Steve had on his syllabus.  Don, Mike and Jon all had good and relevant input.  It was a good session and two or three more are yet to come.

Meanwhile, Dave L spent part of the day at TRACON.  He was there to learn what they see on their radar screens when we’re flying, and to learn how they work to keep everyone safe when we’re flying.

A surprise was that there was a commercial skydiving club that showed up early in the morning.  This club normally operates out of the Plattsmouth Airport, but they’ve relocated temporarily to KBTA while the runway is being repaved in Plattsmouth.  It’s one more thing to watch for when we’re flying.

There was a total of ten flights today:

– Steve R flew a ‘Mile High’ flight.

– Eric H flew a ‘Mile High’ flight.

– Sean S did a self-launch in his Jonkers JS-3.

– Eric took his son Ethan up for a ride in the L-23.

– Ryan K flew with Steve to practice for his upcoming Check Ride.

– Don O flew a flight lesson with Eric.

– Bud S flew a flight in his Grob 102 Astir CS77.

– Bob A flew a Check Flight with Steve.

– Cale L flew a fight lesson with Steve.

– Jose C. flew a flight lesson with Steve.

Frank did the towing today.

Thanks everyone for a safe day!
